Founded in 1991 by a small group of New York knitting friends, the Big Apple Knitters Guild (BAKG) has grown into a vibrant community of nearly 400 members from across the tristate area and beyond—while still holding onto its roots as a welcoming group of knitting enthusiasts. Open to all ages and skill levels, BAKG invites everyone from curious beginners to experienced knitters to learn, share, and connect. Members enjoy a wide range of benefits, including monthly Saturday meetings in Manhattan featuring renowned and emerging voices in the knitting world, the much-loved Annual Yarn Auction, small-group meetups, workshops, charity projects, volunteer opportunities, exclusive publications, and, perhaps most importantly, lasting friendships built around a shared love of knitting.

Jade Sapphire is a small, family business featuring hand-dyed 100% cashmere yarn in more than 200 colorways.  For more than 20 years, at Jade Sapphire we've worked on our goal to free cashmere from the string of pearls and sedate colors into the vibrant world of hand knitting and crochet of today.
